Shamol-Aisha's 'E Emon Porichoy' getting positive responses from audience

Avenging brother’s death led Nayantara into Mirza Mansion where things got a surprising turn as she fell in love with Rudra, presumed killer of her brother. The situation put Nayantara in quandary– revenge or love, which will prevail? The plot and narrative of long-format web drama series also put the audience in wonder.

ZEE5 Global, the largest OTT platform for South Asian content, premiered ‘E Emon Porichoy’, the first-ever long-format drama series for its Bangladeshi content market, recently, produced by Good Company.

The series will have multiple seasons and each will have 20 episodes in this new format, which will be released periodically, according to the ZEE5 media release.

The title of the web series was taken from a very popular music track ‘E Emon Porichoy’ played by renowned Bangladeshi rock bank Souls. The song is also being used as the opening track of the web series. Partha Barua, one of the key members and vocalists of the band, re-tuned the track for the web series.

Directed by Nazrul Islam Rajoo, 'E Emon Porichoy' features an ensemble cast with renowned actors Shamol Mawla, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Rosey Siddique and Aisha Khan.

In a recent interview, actress Aisha, who plays the character of Nayantara, expressed her enthusiasm about the series and acting.

“Thrillers have always been my favourites. My character in the series has suspense, twists and turns. I felt for the character the moment I was informed about it,” Aisha said.

Narrating about her character, Aisha said that the romantic genre political thriller series narrates the story of Nayantara, who reaches the famous Mirza House in Dhaka to avenge her brother’s death. However, things take an unexpected turn when she begins to fall in love with her brother’s suspected murderer Rudra, and encounters a contradictory secret about her brother’s murder, taking her down a different road.

“We have been gradually getting more and more positive responses from the audience as the series progresses,” she said.

Shamol Mawla said that they have completed shooting and productions of 20 episodes. “We have been working in a family atmosphere with senior-junior artists.”

“There have been some scenes and moments when we don’t feel that we are shooting in a drama set if feels like that we are in real life. It’s been so lively out there,” Shamol said.

The current year is very much eventful for Aisha as she appeared ZEE5 Global’s web series ‘Contract’ and now acting in the same platform’s long drama series.

There have been many movies and dramas based on romance and revenge plots, but Aisha believes that ‘E Emon Porichoy’ is distinguished for its’ narrative and presentation. There are many turns and twists in the plot which make the audience enthusiastically wait for the next season.

Shamol finds that the OTT platform creates opportunities for dealing with different genres, stories and narratives. “It paves away to delve with more details and I feel comfortable working in details.”

He said that there would be criticisms and discussion with a relatively new platform, it would certainly have a smooth journey.

Aisha said that each country and culture are distinguished and the OTT platform brings these different cultures, stories to us with different tastes.

Aisha has been focusing only on the drama series with all efforts, attention and talents. She feels that all of her efforts will have meaning if the audience enjoys ‘E Emon Porichoy’.
