Condolences pour in for noted actress Kabori

Tributes and condolences continue to pour in for noted actress of Bangla film Sarah Begum Kabori who passed away early today at Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital in the city at the age of 70.

Immediately after her demise, people from all walks of life as well as different political parties and leaders expressed their shock and sent condolences.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their profound shock and sorrow at the death of Kabori.

In separate messages of condolence, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Besides, in separate condolence messages, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Advocate Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury condoled the death of the veteran actress.

A number of cabinet members also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the two-time National Film Award-winning personality.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim and Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, LGRD State Minister Swapan Bhattacharya, Cultural Affairs State Minister KM Khalid, Labor and Employment State Minister Begum Monnujan Sufian, Primary and Mass Education State Minister Md Zakir Hossain, Industries State Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Shipping State Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman also expressed deep shock and sorrow in separate condolence messages, at the death of Kabori.

Besides, in a separate condolence message, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh also mourned her death.

The eminent actress of Bangla film Sarah Begum Kabori, also former Member of Parliament (MP), had recently tested positive for Covid-19 while undergoing treatment. She was put on life support at the capital’s Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital on April 15.
