Chief of the Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed has advised the members of the army to follow the chain of command while maintaining discipline.
He also asked the members of the army not to get influenced by any rumour, according to a press release issued by the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
He asked this to the members of the Bangladesh Army during a videoconferencing with the officers from across the cantonments altogether from his office at the Army Headquarters on the day, the release added.
General Aziz also advised the army members to keep alert as the vested quarters were trying to spread propaganda and rumour against the force.
The army chief also advised Bangladesh army staff to get ready for sacrificing their lives in a bid to ensure the country’s sovereignty and independence, the release noted.
“The members of Bangladesh Army have promised to do their duties and responsibilities always as the force is shouldering responsibility with the government, people and the constitution of the country,” said the army chief.
General Aziz thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her involvement with the members of the armed forces in aid to the civil power to help maintain quarantine while also creating awareness about the ongoing coronovirous pandemic across the country.
He also thanked all the members of the Bangladesh army, who were involved in aid to the civil power.
