3,000 tress distributed in Cox's Bazar

Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), a non-government organisation is implementing various developmental activities in different parts of Bangladesh including the refugee camps in Cox's Bazar district.

Following their initiatives,  the organisation in association with charity foundation ‘Tear Fund’, has distributed 3000medicinal and wooden trees among 600 families in Jhilangjha Union Parishad of Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila on Thursday, according to a press release.

Addressing the distribution programme, programme manager of the organisation Tushar Chakraborty said, "The role of trees in sustaining life is infinite as they provide us oxygen, conserve soil and water, improve air quality, preserve wildlife and improve climate of a region.'’

Appreciating the current government's afforestation activities, Tushar Chakraborty also said that CCDB was being emphasized on planting trees in most of their projects across the country.

Chairman of Jilongha Union Tipu Sultan, CCDB officials Robin Adhikari, Rezaul Haque, Mamunur Rashid, Rintu Haldar and the members of ward 6 and 7 of the union were present, among others in the event.
