IU ‘C’ unit entry test results published

The results of the ‘C’ unit entry test for the first year honours courses under 2019-20 academic session of Islamic University (IU) in Kushita were published on Saturday night.  IU Vice-chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari announced the results at his office around 8pm. Among others, IU acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif, ‘C’ unit Coordinator Prof Zakaria Rahman, Business Administration faculty Dean Prof Kazi Akhter Hossain, Accounting and Information System department Chairman Prof Abdus Shaheed Miah and Proctor Prof Paresh Chandra Barman were present on the occasion.

 Prof Zakaria told the news agency that 929 applicants out of total 8,930 who sat for the admission test came out successful. The entry test of ‘C’ unit under Business administration faculty was held on November 4.

Seminar on congenital rubella syndrome held

A scientific seminar on ‘Congenital Rubella Syndrome’ organised by Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh was held at its seminar hall to raise awareness on this public health problem.

Prof Nawzia Yasmin, dean, School of Health Sciences and Head of the Department of Public Health, welcomed guests and participants and emphasised on prevention of the disease and efficacy of vaccination and raising awareness among the community on prevention of the disease.  Dr Shams Tasnuva, Sr Executive, Medical Services, Marketing Strategy Department, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd, delivered keynote presentation on origin of Rubella, causes and symptoms of Rubella, vaccination and prevention of Rubella followed by questions answer session.

Major General (retd) Dr M Shahjahan, Adjunct Professor, Department of Public Health, in his concluding  speech emphasized on arranging Public Health seminar more often on current Public Health issues so that students of MPH program can be well equipped and efficient to tackle any emerging problems that may be confronted.
