Naimur urges Tigers to play natural games

Not to think much about opponents’ strength and recent past performance along with on which condition they have been playing and who are their opponents, Bangladesh have to attempt their utmost best to play their natural games that will be helpful for them.

The conditions in India are not alien to them rather it will be very much like Bangladesh. Keeping those things in mind, if Bangladesh can play and try to give their cent percent efforts from the individual perspective for the team causes, the result might be positive.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and its High Performance Committee Chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy stated all to media while he was witnessing the pre-match day full-squad practice session of the Bangladesh Emerging Team at the National Academy ground of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.

But Durjoy has acknowledged that they still could not make a good build-up for the Test cricket after being passed a longer period in international cricket. Even though they thrashed top-notch England, they have not much success record in Test.

“Bangladesh are also a talented team. We have passed 19 years in Test cricket but we can’t make a good unit in Test yet. Considering our individual performance along with recent performance in cricket, we are hopeful of doing well,” said Naimur Rahman, who led Bangladesh in inaugural Test against Sourav Ganguly-led Team India.

“The Indian condition is adjustable with us, in that case, there will be an advantage for us like the home condition. Then players have to give their hundred percent in the field because it will not be easier for a team to do well in the Indian condition whatever good team they are,” Durjoy told media.

“South Africa was also not a bad side. Then they lost to India on their own territory. Then, I say, those who will perform well in the field team will come out as a better team,” he added.

“Whatever good team are Bangladesh have to play well in Indian ground against India. Keeping that in mind, they have to play taking less pressure that would be better for us.”

“If the players take more pressure, it will be bad for us because India are stronger than us will seek to take advantage of it. We should not keep the recent performance of South Africa. Dropping all those things, we have to try to play our normal game against the home side.”

Recently, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has declared they will form a discrete squad for Test and will take effective and time-bound measures to develop its Test performance.

Naimur said the batsmen have to bat with more responsibility throughout the Test series as the mainstay batsmen of the team- Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal- are not in the current squad.

He also said players have to get down with Test temperament in the field that will be big challenge Durjoy said of the Test.

“Batsmen must have to take challenge. As Shakib along with Tamim Iqbal are not in the team. We will miss both them. So, the rest of the batsmen have to bat with responsibility,” he opined.

“We have seen in some more Tests our players are playing Tests in the mood of Twenty20 and one-day. The players have to swap that mode. It has to play in Test temperament and that’ll be a challenge for our players,” he said, signing off.
