Bangladesh face tough Oman
test today in WC qualifier

Bangladesh national football team will face another tough challenge in their World Cup 2022 and AFC Cup 2023 qualifier when they will take on Oman today at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.

The match will kick off at 9 pm BST.

It will be the fourth match for Bangladesh as they conceded two defeats and drew one out of three with 2-0 against Qatar and 1-0 Afghanistan in home and away ground and very previous match was 1-1 draw against India.

The performances of all three matches were very much impressive, specially, the draw match against India at the Salt Lake Stadium was very much convincing.  Bangladesh, out of two goals conceded against Qatar, one was at the injury period when they had also chances to earn point from the Asian giants.

At the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on October 10, Bangladesh were simply ill-fated not to have the win as they led the match up to 88th minute and one effort from Bangladesh denied by cross piece and another was saved just at the moments of crossing the goal-line.

Might be the performances of previous matches would a huge boost up but it would be a new opponents and new match at different ground.

However, the Bangladesh coach Jamie Day, who actually brought some changes in the team, said in a pre-match press conference yesterday that their eagerness of fighting would be same, though the Oman is very strong side.

“As we have willingness to work hard every game and be organised and play with a good tempo. Oman is very strong and organised side.”

Jamie said that they worked on missing chances in the previous matches when Bangladesh could mark the target for once after missing lot of opportunities –“All we can do is keep creating chances and worked on finishing in training.”

About the today’s match how tough it would be, Jamie sad, “I think in the previous two games we have played really well and the performance of the players has been fantastic. This will be out toughest match so far as they are a very good side and we are away from home.

“It's all extremely tough for our players to keep performing against team's that technically better than us like they have so I want to try and reach the levels we have recently.”
