Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sazzad Hossain of Dhaka Customs House said, “Acting on a tip-off, Customs officials took position at several points of the airport. As the domestic flight passengers arrived from Sylhet, they were diligently searched, upon which three passengers were detained when the team found the aforementioned items in their possession.” The trio got on a Bangladesh Biman flight when it made a stopover in Sylhet after taking off from Muscat, Oman.

During primary interrogation, the detainees told the Customs team that a man, who came to Sylhet airport from Muscat of Oman boarding the same flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, gave the consignment of gold and mobile to them to hand those over to someone in Dhaka, Sazzad said.
