Madrasa girl Asma Akter, who was found dead in a toilet of an abandoned compartment of a train at capital’s Kamalapur Railway Station on Monday, was raped before murder, doctor said yesterday. Asma was choked to death and evidence of rape was found, Pradip Biswas, lecturer of forensic department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), told reporters after an autopsy. Pradip said, “The autopsy found the evidences of rape and murder.” Besides, there were marks of torture on her body, said the doctor adding that DNA samples and viscera have been collected for further analysis. Earlier, Police recovered the body of Asma from the toilet of an abandoned bogie of ‘Balaka Express,’ said Rasho Banik, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dhaka Railway Police Station. Police found her birth certificate near the body and contacted her family members accordingly. Daughter of Abdur Razzak from Konpara village in Sadar upazila of Panchagarh, Asma passed Dakhil examination (equivalent to Secondary School Certificate) from Khan Bahadur Mokhlesur Rahman Madrasa.
