Tk 66.5 lakh snatched after shooting RMG factory owner

A group of miscreants snatched Tk 66.50 lakh from a RMG factory owner after shooting him in Malekerbari area on Dhaka-Mymensing highway of Gazipur on Sunday noon. 

The victim Mohammed Rabiul Islam, managing director of RN Corporation of Tongi, was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with critical condition. An account officer of the factory and the private car driver were also injured in the incident. 
Mohammed Mozammel Haque, driver of the private car, said, Rabiul Islam along with an account officer were returning with a private car from Gazipur to  the factory at  Tongi after withdrawing Tk 66.50 lakh from Islami Bank Joydebpur Chowrasta branch in Gazipur for paying the salary of workers on Sunday noon. While their private car reached Malekerbari area on Dhaka-Mymensing highway, a yellow coloured pick-up van suddenly made barricade on the highway ahead of their private car. In the meantime, 4 to 6 youths riding on two motorcycles came to the spot and shot on it. They also hit the front and side glasses of the car with iron rod, broke these and beat up account officer and driver. At one stage, they shot at managing director sitting on the back seat of the car and left the scene with sacks of money. 
On information, additional superintendent of Gazipur police Rasel Sheikh and Mohammed Shakhawat Hossain visited the spot. They checked the video footage of CC camera in the area to identify the snatchers. 
Mohammed Jakir Hossain, in-charge of Bhogra police out post under Joydebpur police station, we have already started raid at different places to arrest the snatchers.
