AIUB 16th convocation tomorrow
The 16th convocation of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am AIUB’s own Plot No-2, Embankment Drive Road, Sector-10, Uttara, Dhaka.
On behalf of President Md Abdul Hamid and chancellor of the university, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will preside over the convocation ceremony and confer the degrees to the graduating students.
Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Abdul Mannan will be the special guest while Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh HE Hanne Fugl Eskjær will be the convocation speaker.  Ishtiaque Abedin, chairman of AIUB Board of Trustees, and Vice Chancellor Dr Carmen Z Lamagna will also deliver their speeches on this occasion. A total number of 2517 graduates, who have successfully fulfilled all the academic requirements in various disciplines of the Bachelor and Masters Degree Programmes, will be conferred degrees at the convocation. Gold Medals and other academic awards including Chancellor’s Award, Vice Chancellor’s Award, Dr Anwarul Abedin Leadership Award will be given to deserving students for their excellence in academic performance, distinction and other extra curricular activities.

CUET 3rd convocation March 14

CHITTAGONG: The third convocation of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) will be held on March 14.
President and Chancellor of the university Abdul Hamid is expected to preside over the programme. Assistant Director (Public Relations) of CUET Fazlur Rahman said the CUET authority received a letter of consent from the office of the President on Sunday. The convocation will be held at 2.30pm while all concerned would be officially informed soon, he added.

Career fair held at Eastern University
A day long career fair organised by Eastern University (EU) Career Crevice & International Office (CSIO) yesterday ended with a positive note.
The objective of the fair was to bring together employers, experienced professionals, and entry level talented individuals under one roof. This day-long event focused on the theme of ‘Not just a job, find your career’. The interactive fair was open for all graduates and job seekers. Earlier, Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif inaugurated the fair as chief guest. Abul khair Chowdhury, chairman, Board of Trustees of EU, was the guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony. Md Musharrof Hossain, president, BSHRM; ASM Mahbubul Alam, additional secretary, Information Ministry; Mohua Rashid, country manger, ACCA Bangladesh were also present as the special guest.  Pro Vice Chancellor and Convener of the Fair Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said the Fair will benefit both employers and potential employees extensively. Abdur Rab, vice chancellor of EU, in his address shared his future plan to add more practical and job oriented courses in the present curriculum of the university.
