Rajshahi College adjudged as country’s best for 4th consecutive time

Rajshahi College has been adjudged as the country’s best educational institution for the fourth consecutive time this year for its outstanding performance in various fields like the previous years of 2016, 2017 and 2018.

The Ministry of Education has ranked the college as the country’s best one in National Education Week-2019 Competition on Thursday, said Prof Habibur Rahman, Principal of Rajshahi College, yesterday. Simultaneously, the ministry also declared Shahrin Promy (Roll-27), an eleven class student of the college, as best student in college level.

Prof Rahman said every year the education ministry brings all the colleges throughout the country under ranking on 19 indicators including number of students and their results, number of highest degree-holding teachers, college environment, water and sanitation. Earlier, National University also declared the college as the country’s best one based on its ranking consecutively in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Rajshahi College stopped enrolling Higher Secondary students in 1996 but again started enrolling from session 2010-2011.

200 students get scholarships

BSS, Rangpur

Speakers at a function have urged the students to make themselves skilled workforce through acquiring knowledge for building an economically advanced country. Students should be given quality education as they are the future leaders of the country, they told at a function organised by Rangpur Foundation to distribute scholarships among 150 brilliant students of public universities at Town Hall here on Tuesday afternoon.

Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam attended the function as the chief guest with President of Rangpur Foundation and Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib in the chair. Additional District Magistrate Shukria Pervin delivered the welcome speech narrating social welfare oriented activities of Rangpur Foundation.The chief guest distributed Tk 3,000 among each of the 150 scholarship recipient students of Begum Rokeya University and Tk 5,000 among each of the other 50 meritorious students studying at different public universities. Educationist Prof Mohammad Shah Alam, Acting President of district unit of Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed addressed as special guests.
