An anti-terror special court here yesterday set May 13 for holding next hearing of a case lodged over the grisly militant attack at the capital’s Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016. Judge Md Mujibur Rahman of Dhaka Anti terrorism Special Tribunal set the date after examining two new prosecution witnesses in the case lodged under anti-terrorism act.
“Billal Hossain, an expatriate living in Spain, owner of the house where the militants used to live as tenants and Sohrab, caretaker of that house, testified before the court as prosecution witness number 36 and 37, and were later cross examined by the defence,” Ruhul, a court staff, told BSS. Militants killed 20 innocent people, most of them foreigners, in the attack carried out on July 1, 2016. Two police officials valiantly laid down their lives while trying to save people there.
