MSC still in relegation zone

Mohammedan Sporting Club suffered another defeat in the Bangladesh Premier League when they went down to Rahmatganj MFS by 2-1 yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Faysal Ahmed led Rahmatganj inside fifth minute while Habibur Rahman Shohag equalised for Mohammedan on 11th but a late hour strike from Ziyo Zunapio enabled Rahmatganj to earn three valuable points.

After winning the match Rahmatganj finished the first leg on ninth place with two wins, six draws and four defeats obtaining 12 points. Mohammedan concluded the first phase with bitter experiences when they could manage only one win, drew three and suffered seven from 12 matches and stay on 11th place.        

 Rahmatganj just stunned all taking lead just inside five minutes when Faysal Ahmed beat the Mohammedan defenders to receive a Syo Zunapio through pass in an open space and found goalkeeper one on one situation inside the area and made a cool finish on fourth minute (1-0).

Mohammedan took only seven minutes to equalise the margin when Habibur Rahman Shohag converted a brilliant left foot volley from top of the box on a lovely right side cross of Nkowcha Kingsley (1-1).

Mohammedan had golden opportunity to take lead on 57th minute but their captain Nkowcha Kingsley failed to converted a penalty when a Rahmatganj defender handled the ball inside the goal-mouth melee.

Rahamatganj, who were forced to play with the counter attacks strategy were succeed with their tactics as, they scored the match winner through their Congolese  forward Siyo Zunapio on 74th minute.

In the day’s other match Saif Sporting Club completed their first leg with 2-0 win over Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at the Sheikh Moni Stadium, Gopalganj.

Saif finished on fourth position obtaining 23 points with seven wins, two draw and three defeats while Muktijoddha earned 15 points from four wins three draws and conceded five defeats to finish on sixth position.
