Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team travelled Cox’s Bazar, the venue ground for the initial some matches, on Thursday to play a bilateral home series against their English counterparts.
The home side will play a practice match between themselves today (Saturday) to find out the final playing XI for the first match against England Under-19 Cricket Team.
Head coach Naveed Nawaz will guide them in the series. He will ably be aided by Champaka Ramanayaka, who basically sharpened the fast bowlers of the squad along with other quicks under the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB’s) control.
The series will open with a Twenty20 international, slated to hold at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on January 27. But they will play a warm-up match before heading into the main series of the youth.
They will play three youth one-day international series at the same venue on January 29 and 31 along with February 2 respectively.
Then the visiting side will play two-match youth Test series at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The first of the four-dayer will start on February 7-10, while the second will play on February 15-18 before departing for London on February 19.
England are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on January 20 to play the series as a part of the preparation for their next ICC Under-19 World Cup that will be held in 2020 in South Africa.
