Young Bangladeshi tennis player Roman Hossain along with Pakistan’s Hamid Isral Gul became the champions in boys’ doubles event and Mahadi Hasan Alve secured the runner-up spot in the boys’ singles of the ITF Asian under-14 development championships 2019, a division two tennis tournament being held from January 8-19 in Thailand.
In the finals of the boys’ doubles event, Bangladesh’s Roman Hossain teaming up with Pakistan’s Hamid Isral Gul tore apart all Iran pair of Amir Ali Ghavam-Kasra Rahmani winning by straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
In the boys single final, Bangladesh’s Mahadi Hasan Alve faced off against Jordan’s Mohammad Alkotop where the young Jordanian tennis player got the upper hand and beat Mahadi by 1-6, 0-6.
Depending on the success of the teams in the tournament, they can progress from division two to division one.
