Bangladesh T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan said that they will attempt to come back strongly by amending their faux pas alongside trying to make big total if they get chance to bat first on Florida’s surface.

Despite having enough scopes, Shakib thinks that they did not enlarge their total further in the opener of the T20 series because of some blunders in the course of their batting.

“We had enough opportunities to expand our total further in the first match of the series. But we did not succeed it due to some more reasons,” said Shakib Al Hasan.

“I think, if we can play by making our amends, it’s then possible to make big score in the next matches,” Shakib told media after their practice session.

“If wicket behaves well more than the opener, it’ll obviously be possible to make a good total to bat first,” he added.

After playing their Twenty20 opener at the Warner Park in St. Kitts, Bangladesh went to Florida, USA to play the remainder of the three-match Twenty20 series against the West Indies.

Bangladesh team held their first training session at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on Thursday, the venue where captain Shakib Al Hasan has playing experience on this surface in the chance of playing in Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Playing on Florida’s surface though first time for the bulk of his team’s players, Shakib Al Hasan thinks that the two matches of the series in Florida will be exciting for all for the presence of the huge number of Bangladeshi supporters.

“This short tour in Florida will be exciting for all because there will be present a huge number of Bangladeshi supporters. Hopefully the time will be excellent for our players,” the ace all-rounder said.

When asked about Florida’s wickets, Shakib said that it is possible to tell anything right about the wickets after holding their practice session on the surface.

“It’s difficult to say something about wickets because the wickets I played here in the last season in CPL, it’s not the same wickets. So, idea about wickets will be got after practicing here,” the 31-year-old all-rounder responded.

“We’re just practicing on side wickets which will not be much more difference than the main wickets,” he added.

Bangladesh had a schedule to play a practice match against an invitational XI before starting Florida chapter. If the schedule is okay, it was due to  start at 8:00pm on Friday night.

They yet again will face off West Indies in the second fixture of the T20 series at 6:00am on Sunday.
