Sub-registrar held while taking bribe in Pabna

Pabna: Officials of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested a female government official, incumbent sub-registrar of Atgharia upazila, red handed while taking bribe at her office on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Ishrat Jahan, incumbent sub-registrar of the upazila.

On information, a team of ACC officials of the district headed by Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique conducted a drive at the office around 5:30pm and arrested her while she was taking bribe for registering wills from four persons, said Assistant Director of the district office Sheikh Md Golam Maola.

Earlier, Ishrat Jahan demanded TK 14,000 each of the persons for registering their papers. The arrestee was taken to ACC district office in Pabna for interrogation, the AD also said.
