AFC urges to upgrade BNS ground condition

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has become alert about the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) after Asian Football Confederation issued a warning notice. Now the BFF has started nursing the ground ahead of the AFC Cup match to be held on March 7.

The AFC Cup match is scheduled to take place at the Bangabandhu National Stadium when Bangladesh league champions Abahani Limited will take on new Radiant Club of Maldives.

Meanwhile, BFF received the letter from AFC after observing  the AFC Cup playoff match between Saif Sporting Club and TC Club of Maldives was held in an unfit ground on February 3. But the AFC officials was very unhappy watching the odd condition of the playground of the BNS where almost all the domestic and the international matches have been taking place round the year which is the main problem to keep the ground to a good state.

Therefore, the AFC officials directed to improve the ground’s condition and the BFF has taken quick action to upgrade the ground with proper nursing.
