Celebrated Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s much-awaited film ‘Doob’ (No Bed of Roses) is finally set to hit cinemas today. The film will be released in Bangladesh, India and Australia simultaneously. Jaaz Multimedia, co-producer of the film, has confirmed that the film will be released in 81 cinema halls across the three countries. The film will very soon be releasing in United States of America, France, Singapore and Malaysia.
Initially for the first week, ‘Doob’ is being released in 39 cinema halls in Bangladesh, 34 cinema halls in India, while the film is being released in 8 cinema halls in Australia.
Bangladeshi production house Jaaz Multimedia produced the film ‘Doob’ alongside India’s Eskay Movies with Irrfan Khan’s IK Company on board as co-producer.
The film stars celebrated Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan and popular actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha from Bangladesh in the lead roles. Among others, Rokeya Prachy and Parno Mittra are in two important roles in the film. To note, the film is said to be loosely based on late Bangladeshi writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed--who divorced his wife of 27 years and married an actress 33 years junior to him. The filmmaker, however, has denied that it’s a biopic.
