Journalists agitate in Khulna for 9th wage board

Journalists in Khulna yesterday held a rally as part of a countrywide agitation programme in demand for immediate formation of the 9th wage board for media people, reports BSS.

Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) announced the countrywide agitation programme from a recent demonstration in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka.

Addressing the gathering on Khulna Press Club premises, the journalist leaders said programmes for a greater movement would be announced at a grand rally in front of the National Press Club on September 20, if the 9th wage board is not formed before that.

They demanded declaration of the 9th wage board for electronic and online media integrating with the print media. BFUJ and Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) jointly organized the agitation rally with KUJ President S M Zahid Hossain in the chair.
