Great Britain have qualified for the Fed Cup Euro/Africa Zone promotion play-offs by beating Israel 3-0.

Anne Keothavong crushed Julia Glushko 6-2 6-1 in the opening rubber before British number one Elena Baltacha battled past Shahar Peer 6-4 6-3.

Heather Watson and Laura Robson beat Glushko and Keren Shlomo 6-2 6-1 in the doubles to ensure GB topped Pool C.

Judy Murray's side will play Austria on Saturday with a place in April's World Group II play-offs at stake.

"All our girls have played every day and they've proved that they're a winning team," said Murray.

"They showed some fantastic competitive spirit and have done tremendously well to get through as group winners."

Baltacha, who won six consecutive games to win the second set after trailing 0-3 in her match against world number 37 Peer, admitted: "Once I'd won the match point, tears came to my eyes. It was such an amazing evening and one I will remember for a long time."
