National Social Service Day is being observed today under the initiative of Social Welfare Ministry amid different programmes across the country, reports BSS. The theme of this year is "Innovation of Social Services: Digitalisation in Services This Time". The day's prgrammes included procession, discussion, loan distribution among destitute and distribution of warm cloths among cold hit people.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday issued separate messages on the eve of the day wishing success of all programmes of the day. The President called upon public and private organization to work concertedly to increase further the circumference of social services. "Different organisations and agencies side by side of the government should work with sincerity as common people can get the benefits of services," he said. Abdul Hamid said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's initiated different programmes to ensure services to destitute people in the war-torn country. In separate message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the incumbent Awami League government has always been working tirelessly for the welfare of poor people following the path shown by Bangabandhu.
