Alamgir sings to enthrall audience

Multi-time National Film Award winning evergreen actor Alamgir has delighted the audience with his stellar performances on screen with his films throughout the years. It was also common knowledge to many that in addition to his acting skills, Alamgir also has a delightful singing voice. That is why he did the playback for many films and also performed songs in a number of television programmes.
DhakaLive has news that last Thursday, Alamgir has rendered some songs on stage to the delight of the audience in attendance at the ‘Tribute to Gazi Mazharul Anwar’ programme held the capital’s Uttara Club.  Alamgir got up on stage to say a few words about Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Johra Gazi. Then the audience in attendance requested the evergreen actor to sing some songs. Alamgir listened to the requests and did just that, to the delight of the audience. In a fitting tribute, he performed three songs written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar. He performed ‘Tumi Arekbar Asia Jaow Mor E Kandaiya’ from the film ‘Nagardola’, ‘Ami Dhonno Hoyechi Ogo Dhonno Tomarey Premer Jonno’ from the film ‘Sona Bou’ and ‘Achen Amar Moktar Achen Amar Barrister’ from ‘Golapi Ekhon Train’.
After his performance, Alamgir said, “To pay proper respect to Gazi Mazharul Anwar, I sang these songs . Gazi Mazharul Anwar is an eminent personality and this arrangement at Uttara Club has been a great tribute for a great man.” Other renowned names who performed songs at the progarmme are Kanak Chapa, Badshah Bulbul, Dithi Anwar and Opu. The programme was presented by National Film Award winning actress Nipun. Alamgir has performed playback for the films ‘Aguner Alo’, ‘Kar Paape’, ‘Jhumka’ and ‘Nirdhosh’.
