Joya in Indian Bangla short film for first time

National Film Award winning actress Joya Ahsan has certainly made her mark in not only the films in Bangladesh, but also in West Bengal. Now for the first time, the ever popular actress has worked in a Kolkata short film titled ‘Bhalobashar Sohor: The City of Love’ directed by Indrani Ray Chowdhury. Joya Ahsan will be appearing alongside Arun Mukhopadhyay and Ritwick Chakraborty in her new venture. The actress shared her thoughts surrounding the film, “The story of the film tells the story of ordinary people and I feel that everyone should definitely watch this. This is because I feel that our own stories have blossomed through this film. Personally, I am extremely satisfied after working in ‘Bhalobashar Sohor’.”
To note, recently Joya Ahsan-acted film ‘Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini-2’, directed by Safiuddin Safi, saw its release. Joya acted opposite popular actor Shakib Khan in the film. Also, Joya Ahsan has recently completed the work for the government-granted film ‘Khacha’ directed by Akram Khan. Then her busy schedule continues as she will be travelling to Kolkata at the end of the current month to work in Manoj Michigan’s film ‘Ami Joy Chaterjee’, where she will be acting opposite Abeer. Joya-acted film ‘Eagle er Chokh’, directed by Arindam Sil, is also awaiting its release in Kolkata.
Even though the actress appears in tele-dramas for special occasions, Joya Ahsan is now busy with films mostly. For her stellar performances in ‘Guerilla’ in 2011 and ‘Chorabali’ in 2012, Joya earned the prestigious National Film Award for best actress.
