7th Nat’l Convention of Bangladesh Gram Theatre today

The 7th National Convention of Bangladesh Gram Theatre (BGT) will be held today at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises at Segun Bagicha in the city. This year’s event will be inaugurated at 4pm and will continue till 7am tomorrow. DhakaLive has news that Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the programme. Besides, noted thespians Ramendu Majumdar, Ataur Rahman and Mamunur Rashid will speak about theatre.
The event includes a variety of performances such as ‘Lathi Khela’, ‘Putul Nach’ ‘Lalon-er Gaan’, ‘Gambhira Gaan’, Rabindra and Nazrul Sangeet, ‘Pala’, dances, recitations and many more.
Besides, Nasir Uddin Yusuf, Mafidul Haq, Professro Salimullah Khan, Professor Azfar Hussain, Binayak Sen, Afsar Ahmad, Tureen Afroz and Iqbal Habib will deliver speeches at the main segment of the event at 6pm.
To note, Bangladesh Gram Theatre is a brainchild of the late theatre icon Natyacharya Selim Al Deen. l
