No trace of missing BNP leader yet

Our Correspondent, Rangpur

The law enforcers are yet to make any headway in their investigation into the alleged abduction of BNP’s Rangpur city unit President Mozaffar Hossain. Mozaffar was picked up on Friday allegedly by a group of people identifying themselves as members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). Sufia Hossain, wife of Mozaffar, alleged that a number of plainclothes personnel cordoned off their residence late on November 20 and, after a search, they left the residence with the BNP leader. Family members of Mozaffar later went to the offices of RAB and police in the city seeking whereabouts of the BNP leader. However, both the RAB and police denied their involvement in the incident. Abdul Kader Zilani, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Mozaffar is accused in several cases but stated that they (police) have no connection in the BNP leader’s going missing. Asadul Habib Dulu, Rangpur division organising secretary of BNP, said they want an immediate trace of Mozaffar.
