Following a thumping win by an innings and 106 runs against Zimbabwe, five Bangladesh national team players have moved up in the latest ICC Test Rankings issued yesterday.

Wicket-keeper-cum batsman Mushfiqur Rahim who smashed unbeaten double ton (203) in the first innings of the recently concluded one-off Test against Zimbabwe has climbed five steps up from 25th to 20th with a rating point of 655 in the updated batting charts.

National team Test skipper Mominul Haque, who also pulled off his 9th Test century after scoring 132 in the same Test, has moved up five slot and is currently sitting at 39th from  44th position with 556 points.

Except the duo, Nazmul Hossain Shanto also gained his career best rating points of 288 in Test cricket and earned his place at 104th place in the standings.

Apart from the three batters, off-spinner Nayeem Hasan, who took 9 wickets including a five-wicket haul in the second knock against Zimbabwe, has made a remarkable improvement notching 29 up in the latest ICC Test Rankings. He moved from 67th to 38th with an excellent rating of 410.

Fast bowler Abu Jayed Rahi’s consistent red-ball performance has lifted him 46th place from 57th, eleven steps up with 331 points.

In the meantime, Australian Steve Smith has edged past Indian skipper Virat Kohli again to reclaim the top spot in the Test rankings for batsmen. Smith currently occupying the first spot with 911 rating while Kohli  slipped to second place with 906 points.
