69 DU students get Dean’s Award

Total sixty nine meritorious students of different departments under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have received ‘Dean’s Award’ for their outstanding academic results in BBA and MBA examinations, says a press release. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards among the brilliant students at a function held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university yesterday.

Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam presided over the function while Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden Prof Andreas Larsson and Director of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata Maj Gen (Retd) AK Sapra addressed it as special guests. Chairmen of different departments declared the names of awardees.  Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems Prof Riazur Rahman Chowdhury gave vote of thanks.

National Collegiate Programming Contest ends at MIST

BSS, Dhaka

The concluding ceremony of National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC) was held on Saturday at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) at Mirpur Cantonment. State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away prizes among the winners. In his speech, he told about various steps taken by the government in developing the ICT sector of Bangladesh.

He emphasized on enhancing programming capacity and problem solving skills of the young programmers in building Digital Bangladesh. Commandant of MIST Major General, Wahid-Uz-Zaman, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Brigadier General Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, addressed the programme, among others.
