Nine-day exhibition on artist Shahbuddin at Zainul Gallery

A nine-day solo photography exhibition on eminent artist and freedom fighter Shahbuddin Ahmed titled ‘Shahbuddin, the Painter, the Fighter’ has begun at Zainul Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Art at Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was held on Thursday on the gallery premises, where Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was present as chief guest. Professor Emirates Dr Anisuzzaman presided over the opening ceremony.  

Initiate by IRC, a total of 50 photographs-- on Shahbuddin Ahmed by artist Iftekhar Waheed Ifti has been put on display at the exhibition. Artist Iftekhar Waheed Ifti has been following Shahabuddin Ahmed since 15 years. This photographer captured the artist Shahbuddin’s bravery, courage, perseverance, devotion, love, moments of intimacy and others. At the inaugural ceremony, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal wishes the success of Iftekhar Waheed’s exhibition.  He said, “I cannot create art myself. But the work of the artist’s fascinated me, especially when the artist is Shahabuddin Ahmed.”  

The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was also attended by actress Shampa Reza, Managing Director of Omicon Group M Shariful Alam and Nazmul Huda Ratan, entrepreneur and Social Worker General Secretary, Sabalombi Hobo Sabai (Sahos). The exhibition remains open to all everyday from 11 am to 8 pm, until January 31.
