Satota stores play key role to make honest citizens

The ‘Satota Stores’ (integrity stores) set up at educational institutions without sellers would definitely play a key role in creating honest citizens for building a corruption-free society. Anti-corruption activists and officials made the observation yesterday at a function arranged here for distribution of grants among 27 secondary level schools for establishing ‘Satota’ stores at those institutions.

Rangpur District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) organised the event at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner with President of Rangpur District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) Shushanto Chandra Khan in the chair. The District Combined Office of ACC distributed Taka 5.40-lakh among 20 secondary level educational institutions of all eight upazilas in the district with Taka 20,000 each.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan as the chief guest attended the function moderated by General Secretary of Rangpur District CPC freedom fighter Akbar Hossain. Rangpur Divisional Director of ACC Md. Abdul Karim, Deputy Director of Rangpur District Combined Office of ACC Sheikh Mesbah Uddin and District Education Officer Roksana Begum spoke on the occasion.

The educational institutions will establish ‘Satota’ stores without sellers with the grants to enable students in collecting necessary goods from there by paying price spontaneously to practice honesty and integrity since childhood. The chief guest urged the students to play their role in keeping the society free from corruption and cited a number of examples of ‘Satota Stores’ those succeeded toward the direction of practicing honesty in different areas of the country.
