He said the present government has gained a marked progress in disposal of the pending cases after taking various measures, including recruitment of new judges and introduction of tribunals and infrastructural development. In addition to that, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq yesterday told parliament that the government would take an initiative soon to set up a law university in the country.

He came up with the disclosure while replying to a question placed by Jatiya Party lawmaker Shamim Haider Patwary (Gaibandha-1) in the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

“At present, there is no separate law university in Bangladesh. But, while speaking at the judicial conference on December 7, 2019, the chief justice placed the necessity of setting up a law university in Bangladesh and the honourable prime minister assured of introducing such a university here,” the law minister said.

As per assurance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Anisul said, the government will take a measure to set up a law university in the country.
