Police car hits journo in capital

STAFF REPORTER, Dhaka

A journalist from an online news portal was injured yesterday after a police vehicle, carrying Deputy Inspector General (DIG), hit his motorbike at Dhanmondhi-27 of the capital. The injured journalist, Shahrear Hassan, is the staff reporter of Barta24.com. Shahrear said during his return from Dhanmondi to his office after covering an assignment, a pajero (Dhaka Metro Gha-132804) pushed him from behind.  He fell down from the bike and was hit in a bus. Later, he stood up and stopped the escaping vehicle. Asking about the incident, the police official’s driver told him that he was not dead and so there is nothing to apologise. At the same time, the driver angrily threatened to call the traffic police. However, feeling physically uncomfortable, Shahrear later left the spot.
