CJ stresses full digital system for judiciary

STAFF REPORTER, Dhaka

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain yesterday said that there is no alternative to bringing the judiciary under full digital system to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “There is no scope to avoid the use of technology as anyone can complete their tasks easily at a minimum cost by using technology,” the chief justice said while inaugurating an updated version of Law Chamber Management System (LCMS).

Siddique Enterprise Limited organised the programme at the Supreme Court auditorium where Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain attended as the chief guest. Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim addressed as the special guest while Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President AM Amin Uddin, SCBA Secretary Mahbub Uddin Khokan and advocate Kamal Uddin, among others, addressed the function.

The chief justice said the working system of the judiciary have flourished with the introduction of various technologies.

The Supreme Court has already introduced digital system in the judicial process. If e-judiciary system can be implemented into the lower judiciary, everyone including litigants would have easier access into the judicial process, he added.

“Till date, we are unable to bring the whole judiciary under full digital system. But, steps have been taken to bring the whole judiciary under the digital system,” the chief justice said.
