The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) yesterday filed cases against two petrol pumps in Dhaka’s Jatrabari and Dhamrai areas and stopped their fuel sale for cheating with customers through fraudulent measurement of fuel and violation of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act-2018. A BSTI surveillance team conducted drives at several filling stations and found that Fatema Naz Petrol Pump at Jatrabari area and Messrs. Borak Filling Station and Service Center at Dhamrai area were cheating with customers by providing them less fuel than the stated quantity. The team filed cases against the owners of the filling stations under the Standards of Weights and Measures Act-2018, said a press release.
