Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga has sought apology in the Parliament for his recent offensive remarks against slain pro-democracy activist Shaheed Noor Hossain. “I seek apology for my remark,” he told the House yesterday with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair. Ranga drew flak from various quarters for making the offensive comment on Nov 10, the day which is observed as the Shaheed Noor Hossain Day, commemorating the martyrdom of Noor Hossain while protesting against the autocratic rule of HM Ershad in 1987 for establishing democracy in the country.
