RDA employee gets 2 years jail

A trial court here yesterday convicted an employee of Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) and sentenced him to suffer two years in jail on charges of corruption. The convict, Mustaque Ahmed, Higher Division Clark of RDA, was also fined Taka 50,000. Rajshahi Divisional Special Judge Ismat Ara found the accused guilty beyond any doubt and pronounced the verdict in his presence in the court on Wednesday afternoon. According to the prosecution story, in brief, is that a corruption case had been lodged with Rajpara Police Station against Mustaque Ahmed on April 28, 2016. After investigation, Rizia Khatun, Deputy Director of Anti Corruption Commission, submitted charge-sheet accusing him on April 30, 2017.
