Promising all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat said yesterday that they will play cent (100) percent aggressive cricket against visiting Zimbabwe to triumph their third fixture of the Tri-series in Chattogram.

Bangladesh won a match out of their past two matches. So, they want to confirm their final ticket for the tri-nation series by winning this match. And, they seek to face off Afghanistan again with winning momentum before the final so that they can squeeze the visitors in the final to clinch the tri-series crown on home territory.

Admitting their lacking in power hitting batsmen in their Twenty20 repertoire, Saikat said that they are trying to fill up the gap by bringing in the new and fresh players, who proved themselves in domestic circuit.

“I told earlier at press meet that we need a momentum. It’s essential for us to win a match. We won the very first but lost the second match. So, the next match is very important for us,” said Mosaddek Hossain Saikat yesterday.

“We have to triumph the match. Of course, we will play the match for winning. We will play 100 percent aggressive cricket for winning the match,” Saikat told media before their pre-match day intense training drill at the evening session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

When asked about lacking in handling Afghanistan’s spinners, the all-rounder said that it is a matter of skills, where they have a bit of lacking in addressing such type of bowlers.

“The matter of skills is always important in Twenty20 cricket. Their maximum spinners are wrist spinners against whom they’ll not hit them always if you want. There is a matter of skills here,” he opined.

“I think there is lacking in our executions. For this, we’re going to lose a match or matches, where we have in little bit gap. So, I think it's better further for us as much as possible we could minimise them,” he added.

He said that they are attempting to focus more on their cricket overlooking their social media flaks.

“When we play better cricket, there is a good environment at that time. But when we lose or play bad cricket, the criticism has been made. Actually we always try how to skip those things and how to keep us away from the matter,” he informed.

“We mull over cricket more. We try to overcome from here and how to come out from it. We try to give less focus on social media,” he added.

Saikat became surprised when he was asked, he is ready to take charge of the team if the management wants to see him in captaincy role. He finished his answer saying this he is trying to learn how to contribute to the team.

“In the current situation, I can’t think about it (leadership) in that way. The management can tell about it well,” he replied.

“If we think from the point of the contribution, I’ll say, everybody is trying to contribute to the team. I’ll also try to play better cricket from my place. I’ll try what I can give for the team. I’m now focusing more on it,” he added.

“I don’t know anything about it. When such will be happened, the management will also be discussed with me about it. I’ll talk with them as per condition,” he said further.

“Those who are in the front line are thinking much about it where we have been lacking. We need such types of batsmen. Actually we have some lacking in power-hitting. We have to wait for it as soon as we don’t get them. We can’t produce such power-hitter and specialist batsmen in T20 cricket if we wish. I think, those who are currently breaking into the team are trying by them. I think, they will do something better for the team, Inshallah.”

“Maybe we lost match for 15 or 20 runs. I think, if we can play somewhat calculative against their spinners or the mistakes we are doing can minimize those, it’ll be better for us. We are right in everywhere. In Twenty20, 160 or more will be scored and it has to be chased that’s normal. We’re doing 145 or 150 in that place. We make some hastiness in some places. We should not do it or minimize it, then the percentage of winning match will be increased for us.”
