A fire broke out at a polythene factory in the capital’s Lalbagh area last night. Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, said the fire originated at the polythene factory in front of Posta Police Outpost at 10:40pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be known, he said.
Fifteen firefighting units rushed to the spot, and extinguished the fire while no casualties were reported till filing the report at 1.03am. Earlier on February 21 this year, a fire broke out at Wahed Mansionin Churihattaa area of Chawakbazar killing at least 81 people.
