Human chain for road repairing

Staff Reporter, Barishal

Students and guardians of eastern bank of Kirtankhola River yesterday formed a human chain demanding to repair and reconstruction of 8-kilometer roads connecting Saheber Hut to Kanaipur under Barishal Sadar upazila. The programme was presided over by Ferdousur Rahman and addressed among others by Bazlur Rahman, Nizamuddin, Shahjahan Sardar, local elites. Speakers and participants of the programme said more than fifty thousand residents of the area have been suffering for the dilapidated condition of that road since long.

The road was constructed by LGED 15 years ago and since then it was not properly maintained or repaired. However, it was the only road connectivity between Charamoddi, Tungibaria, and Chandpur area of Sadar upazila used by the students and local residents daily.

So more than fifty thousand residents, especially the students of local educational institutions are suffering from that dilapidated condition of the only connecting road especially on this rainy season.
