Three theatre troupes will stage their theatrical productions at the three different venues of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital this evening.

Theatre troupe Batighar will premiere its hour-long monodrama titled ‘Himur Kolpito Diary’ at the Studio Theatre Hall, while theatre troupe Prangone Mor will stage their seventh production ‘Aurangzeb’ at the National Theatre Hall and theatre troupe Bahubachan will stage its 24th production ‘Aniket Sondhya’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall. All three plays will be brought to the stage at 7pm simultaneously.

Written and directed by Muktonil, the play ‘Himur Kolpito Diary’ has been made based on Nawshad Hasan Himu, who became popular during a rescue operation after Rana Plaza collapse, set himself on fire in Birulia of Savar. The play revolves around the events which influenced Himu to end his life.

The play ‘Aurangzeb’ features the life of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, highlighting every aspect of the emperor’s life. ‘Aurangzeb’ is written by Mohit Chattopadhyaya and directed by Ananta Hira.

On the other hand, ‘Aniket Sondhya’ is a social play based on the present situation of the society. It follows the story of four individuals of an upper middle-class family: the great grandfather, grandfather, the son and his little child. l
