Bangladesh A team to play a 2-dayer practice in Fatullah today

SPORTS REPORTER, DHAKA

Bangladesh ‘A’ team is honing their skills and techniques along with preparing their mechanism to tame its Afghan counterparts following their national team’s World Cup victory.

Both the second string teams of Bangladesh and Afghanistan will play a bilateral series on Tigers’ home soil.

Bangladesh ‘A’ team will play a two-day practice against a combined team including players of High Performance (HP) squad and the remaining players of the A team, who basically recalled for the one-day series, following their match scenario practice.

The oneoff practice match will be played at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) in Fatullah today. The team will then travel to Khulna, where they will play the tour opener at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, starting on July 5.

The series will be opened with a four-day match. The second and last match of the two-match four-day series will be hosted by Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, who will also feature with the initial three one-day matches of the five- match ODI series.

The remaining two matches of the ODI series will be decided at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) in Savar.

Afghanistan are scheduled to arrive here in Bangladesh on July 1, four days before the start of the tour.
