MoU signed to improve health care services

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh and Friendship on Monday at DGFP conference room in the city. The MoU was signed by Dr Kazi Mustafa Sarwar, director general of DGFP and Runa Khan, founder and executive director of Friendship.

The MoU aims to set forth common provisions and procedures for the cooperation between DGFP and Friendship to provide access to quality healthcare and family planning services to hard to reach and remote areas, emphasizing on women, children and the poor.  The two parties will therefore cooperate to provide strategic interventions achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in line with the 4th Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Program (4th HPNSP).

Among others, Dr Mohammed Sharif, director MCH services, Dr Sarwar Bari, director finance, lne director, MCR-AH, Dr Md Moinuddin Ahmed, line director, clinical contraception services delivery programme, DGFP, and Dr Kazi Golam Rasul, director and head of health, Friendship were present during the signing ceremony. The two parties will work together to develop and improve the capacity of Friendship within the framework of MCH-FP and SRH Operational Plan of DGFP, by providing logistical support to Friendship within the programmatic framework of DGFP as per MoU.

The MoU will help Friendship effectively provide health and family planning services by developing and capacitating it in accordance with the Government of Bangladesh’s Sectoral Operational Plan.
