Says Gowher Rizvi
BSS, Dhaka

International Relation Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Professor Dr Gowher Rizvi yesterday said a transparent and accountable administrative management can take the country forward.

“The government has taken a ‘zero tolerance policy’ against corruption … alongside accountable administrative management, political commitment is a must for taking the country forward, which the government of Sheikh Hasina has,” he said while addressing a seminar at Officers’ Club in the capital.

Ninth BCS Forum and JICA Bangladesh jointly organised the seminar titled ‘Good Governance and National Development’, said a press release.  Underscoring the need for people-government’s coordinated steps to prevent corruption, Rizvi said though execution of laws is principal in this regard, but the people also have responsibility.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam addressed the seminar as the special guest with Ninth BCS Forum President Md Tofazzal Hossain Miah in the chair.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir, MCCI President Barrister Nihad Kabir and Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh Hitoshi Hirata joined the seminar as well.
