Inter-varsity debate contest begins today at JU

A two-day long ‘14th Inter-University Debate Competition’ will begin today at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus here. With the slogan, ‘Pran Shaktir Jhanker e Chinna Hok Oposhongskritir Katatar’, JU Debate Organisation (JUDO) in association with Ministry of Cultural Affairs is organising the contest organised the fest for the 14th time in a row.

Convener of the event JUDO Vice President Maruf Mozammel made the disclosure of the event at a press conference held at Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA) office yesterday afternoon.  ‘A total of 30 public and private universities over the country are taking part at the contest. Moderator of JUDO Professor ATM Atiqur Rahman will inaugurate the event’, he said. ‘Besides, the prize-giving ceremony and concluding session of the two-day long competition will be held on April 27 at Selim Al Deen Muktamacha’, he added.

JUDO President Foysal Mahmud Shanto, Secretary Tazrin Islam Tonni, Media Secretary Shafi Muhammad Sagor, Co-convenor of this programme Sazid Hasan Chowdhury were present at the press conference, among others.

CUB observes World Book Day

Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) brought out a procession at Banani on Tuesday to observe the World Book Day-2019, says a press release. The theme of day was ‘Everything you need to know’. Prof Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Nazrul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Sheikh Mozaffar Hossain, Treasurer, Bahauddin Muhammad Isa, Acting Registrar of Canadian University of Bangladesh, were present in the rally as special guests.  A large number of students, librarians and faculty members of Canadian University of Bangladesh, also attended the rally.

Workshop on ‘Quality Assurance’ held at IU

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised a day-long workshop on ‘Stackholder on Quality Assurance’ at academic conference room of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday.

IU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman attended  the programme as chief guest and its Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha was present as the special guest. Prof Dr KM Abdus Subhan presided over the programme.
