Photography exhibition ‘Simple Pleasures of Life’ starts today

A two-day photography exhibition titled ‘Simple Pleasures of Life’ will start today at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in Dhanmondi of the capital. The exhibition will be featuring the photographs captured by the employees of Eastern Bank Limited.

The closing ceremony of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday at 5:30pm on the gallery premises.

Gruetzmacher-Tecourt Frank, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of France to Bangladesh will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest while Ali Reza Iftekher, Managing Director and CEO, Eastern Bank Ltd. and Olivier Dintinger, Director, AFD will also attend as the special guests.

This is the sixth edition of such like exhibitions organised by EBL.

To initiate greater engagement with the brand and to encourage the art of photography among employees, EBL initiated the photography contest and exhibition in 2012. Last year, the quality of submissions was highly praised by the jury consisting of Hasan Saifuddin Chandan, Bashir Ahmed Sujan and Masuma Pia. The theme for this year’s competition was ‘Haats and Bazars of Bangladesh.’

The exhibition ‘Simple Pleasures of Life’ captures the colour and verve and life and trading that lends its uniqueness to the marketplace of Bangladesh. EBL employees through their camera lens recorded the variety of haats and bazars of Bangladesh in all theirs shapes and sizes, including Iftar Bazar of Chawk Bazar and cattle haat of Eid Ul Adha.

The exhibition is open to all everyday from 2:30pm to 9pm until Wednesday.
