‘Lecture on Genocide 1971: International Recognition’ at DU today

BSS, Dhaka

Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP) is going to organise its 1st Signature Lecture on “Bangladesh Genocide 1971: International Recognition” on Saturday. ELCOP Chairman Prof Mizanur Rahman, former National Human Rights Commission Chairman, will deliver the lecture at 10am at Muzaffar Ahmed Chaudhury Auditorium in Dhaka University (DU) campus.

Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Syed Mahmud Hossain has kindly consented to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, said a press release. DU Law faculty Dean Professor Dr. Rahmat Ullah, Economist Professor Dr. Abul Barkat, Prosecutor of International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh Advocate Zead-al-Malum and ELCOP Executive Director Barrister Tapas Kanti Baul will also address the programme.

MUN Summit at JU begins today

A daylong programme titled 'Model United Nation Summit: Route to UN' will be held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus in Saver on Saturday. Jahangirnagar University Model United Nations Association (JUMUNA), a model organization of United Nation of the university, will organize the programme to celebrate its 4th founding anniversary.

Moderator of programme and skill development secretary of JUMUNA Kazi Md Ashikur Rahman Araf made the disclosure at a press briefing at the office of the Jahangirnagar University Journalists' Association on Friday.

"We have organized the programme to celebrate our fourth founding anniversary of association where State Minister for Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman MP will be present as the chief guest at Zahir Raihan Auditorium," he said.

Around 300 students of 40 academic institutions will take part in the programme, he added. The daylong programme is featured with an inaugural session, rally, and seminar on carrier at United Nations, discussion sessions, reunion of JUMUA former members, honoring the guests, fresher's reception and cultural session at Selim Al Deen Muktamancha.

IU publishes results of IIER admission test   

UNB, Islamic University

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have published the results of Bachelor of Education, Masters' of Education and Diploma in Library and Information Science under the Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER).

IIER director Professor M Maher Ali officially published the results on Friday. The result is available on the university website www.iu.ac.bd.
