Noted researchers awarded

The 2nd-United Group Research Award Ceremony was held at United International University (UIU) auditorium on Wednesday, says a press release.

Moinuddin Hasan Rashid, managing director of United Group, was the chief guest in the ceremony while M Muhibur Rahman, Ex-Professor of Chemistry, DU, former UGC Member and the Chairman of Paper Award Evaluation Committee and Prof Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of UIU, spoke among others. This year 23 papers were selected for the award in the field of science and technology, medical and life science, and agriculture. An amount of Tk 100,000 and a certificate was awarded for each paper.

The chief guest Moinuddin Hasan Rashid said United Group wants to create a research friendly platform where potential researchers will be provided all kinds of support in respect of their research works. He emphasized on applied research which would directly contribute to the society, industry, economy or any productive sector of the country.

The speakers in the program said research is an important part of higher education. Research helps create new knowledge and technology that contributes to building a developed and knowledge based society. They said this initiative will certainly encourage the researchers as well as other scientists of the country and promote research in Bangladesh and contribute to its development. Directors and high officials of United Group, lead researchers, and the invited guests were present in the programme.

Seminar held at Islamic University

 Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised a day-long seminar on ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning Objectives in Higher Education’ held at conference room of the cell of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday.

 IU Vice-Chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari was present on the occasion as the chief guest with Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, and its Treasurer Prof M Selim Toha were attended here as special guest.

 Prof KM Abdus Subhan presided over the programme withk Prof Sanjoy K. Adhikari, former IQAC head was in the resources person.
