Zia, Razib jointly share lead

GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of SAIF Sporting Club are now jointly leading the points table with 5 points each after end of the 6th round games in open section of the Asian Zonal Chess Championships-2019, Zone 3.2, Open & Women’s championships on Wednesday at Chess Federation office room in the capital. GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of SAIF Sporting Club and IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy are sharing second position with 4.5 points each.

Six players followed them in 3rd position with 4 points each. They are: GM Reefat Bin Sattar, IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Nayem Haque and FM Thilakarathne of Sri Lanka.

In 6th round games of open section, GM Zia drew with IM Minhaz, GM Razib beat IM Shakil, GM Rakib beat CM S M Sharon, FM Fahad beat FM Taibur Rahman, GM Reefat beat Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FM Parag beat FM Mohammad Javed, Nayem beat Showkat Hossain Pollab, Shawket Bin Osman Shaon beat CM Sharif Hossain, CM Sohel Chowdhury beat CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, Swarnavo Choudhury beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Alahokoon Isuru beat FM Md. Saif Uddin, Md. Jamal Uddin beat Mortuza Mahathir Islam, CM Subrota Biswas beat Md. Murshedul Kabir, Nasir Hasan beat Dr. Ratan Kumar Pual, Md. Asadujjaman beat Kazi Fujayel Ahmed, CM Keshav Shretha drew with Mortuza Muhtadi Islam, Mihir Lal Das drew with Sadnan Hasan Dihan and Md. Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan drew with Dibakar Dibya.

In women’s section WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society took solo lead with 5 points after 6th round games. WFM Syeda Shabana Parveen and WCM Noshin Anjum were jointly in 2nd position with 4.5 points each. Three players are sharing 3rd position with 4 points each. They are: WFM Tanima Parveen, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva and WFM Zakia Sultana.
