Mohammedan Sporting Club managed a draw after their four consecutive defeats in the Bangladesh Premier League football when they halted Chittagong Abahani Limited to a goalless match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital yesterday. It was third draw for Chittagong Abahani Limited after their beginning the league campaign with a winning note, drew the next two matches with Rahmatganj by 1-1 and 0-0 with Team BJMC. They won the very next match against Brothers Union by 3-2, following a 0-2 defeat to Arambagh but again suffered defeat to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by solitary goal.

Now Chittagong Abahani amassed nine points from seven matches. On the other hands, Mohammedan struggling to get rid of the frustration from their second match as they suffered four defeats in a row, they manage the draw, might be they were very much fortunate escaping from fifth defeats.

In fact, both the Chittagong Abahani and Mohammedan Sporting Club have been coming through under pressure when the former could manage only two wins from seven outings and the latter are also in more embarrassing condition, when they could celebrate only one win and managed the draw yesterday to earn four points from six matches.

However, after the match, Mohammedan manager still hopeful that Mohammedan will make comeback from next matches.

Amirul Islam Babu, who is regularly seen in the dug-out to instruct the players instead of coach, said, “As we have already get the way out from defeats, hopefully from next matches we will be able to win matches.”

In fact Mohammedan, though have a coach in black and white but team manager Babu performs the main job to instruct the players from dug-out when despite in the list of the starting lineup they use the name of an English coach – Christopher Colin Evans, who actually left the club after conducting some matches in the Federation Cup and did not return.

Zulfikar Mahmud Mintu, head coach of Chittagong Abahani said that he was not hopeless with the draw, as he believed that his team had chances to win the match.

But the former national players also looked after the match that he was not fully satisfied with this team and will need some changes.

About the draw against Mohammedan, who have been passing tough times, Mintu said, “Actually, after losing matches one after another, a team turned out to be dangerous, as they have nothing to lose, so Mohammedan are now in this position. However, we had better possessions, specially in the opening half we dominated game and also opened chances but bad luck.”

However, on the day in the 90 minutes game’s outcome were only two close range chances in the first half when Chittagong Abahani could have won the match but midfielders Kowshik Barua and Shahed Hossain failed to mark their targets from the box.

Arambagh  vs NoFeL

Arambagh Krira Shangha returned to winning run in the Bangladesh Premier League after defeating lowly NoFeL Sporting Club by a solitary goal at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

Arambagh, the giant killers, who looked very enthusiastic from their second match with winning three matches in a row but suffered defeats in the next two matches and again regained with winning streak.

But it was very much struggling for Maruful Hassan’s men when Paul Emily struck in the 19th minute and rest of the time they had to struggle much at their home ground to get out with a solitary goal win.

It was fourth defeat for NoFeL when they could manage two draw to earn as many points.
